Set inversion via interval analysis for nonlinear bounded-error estimation

چکیده
AlWlmet--ln the context of bounded-error estimation, one is interested in characterizing the set of all the values of the parameters to be estimated that are consistent with the data in the sense that the errors between the data and model outputs fall within prior bounds. While the problem can be considered as solved when the model output is linear in the parameters, the situation is far less advanced in the general nonlinear case. In this paper, the problem of nonlinear bounded-error estimation is viewed as one of set inversion. An original algorithm is proposed, based upon interval analysis, that makes it possible to characterize the feasible set for the parameters by enclosing it between internal and external unions of boxes. The convergence of the algorithm is proved and the algorithm is applied to two test cases. The results obtained are compared with those provided by signomial analysis.

Parameter estimation for non-linear continuous-time systems in a bounded error context
This paper deals with guaranteed parameter estimation in a bounded error context for nonlinear continuous-time systems. Perturbations are assumed bounded but otherwise unknown. The solution is a set of parameter vectors consistent with modelling hypotheses, measured data and prior error bounds. The algorithm proposed in this paper does not suffer from initialization problems encountered in the ...

This paper deals with the impact of optimized input on parameter and state estimation in a bounded-error context for uncertain controlled dynamical aerospace models. In a bounded-error context, perturbations are assumed bounded but otherwise unknown. The parameters to be estimated are also considered bounded. In this work, we propose an original method which combines a guaranteed numerical set ...
متن کاملInterval constraint propagation with application to bounded-error estimation
For a large class of bounded-error estimation problems, the posterior feasible set S for the parameters can be de ned by nonlinear inequalities. The set-inversion approach combines classical interval analysis with branch-and-bound algorithms to characterize S. Unfortunately, as bisections have to be done in all directions of the parameter space, this approach is limited to problems involving a ...
متن کاملMobile Robot Localization based on a Set Approach using Heterogeneous Measurements
This work tackles the problem of the localization of a robot in in large and cooperative environments using real-time data coming either from the robot onboard sensors or/and from the sensors in the environment. The paper focuses on the 3-DOF localization of a mobile robot that is to say the estimation of the robot coordinates (xmr, ymr, θmr) in a 2D-environment. The problem of nonlinear bounde...
متن کاملGuaranteed robust nonlinear estimation with application to robot localization
When reliable prior bounds on the acceptable errors between the data and corresponding model outputs are available, bounded-error estimation techniques make it possible to characterize the set of all acceptable parameter vectors in a guaranteed way, even when the model is nonlinear and the number of data points small. However, when the data may contain outliers, i.e., data points for which thes...
